IN Thai Cuisine

Thailand is home to some of the most delicious dishes on earth. From curries to stir-fries, noodle dishes to soups, there’s a tasty dish for everyone on a Thai menu.

If you’re new to Thai food, you might be wondering where to start. Luckily, we’re here to help.

Whether you’re an expert looking to expand your pallet or a newbie looking to dive into the world’s best cuisine, next time you’re staring at the menu, try one of these delicious Thai dishes.

1. Phad Thai

No list of Thai dishes would be complete without the classic Phad Thai.

This is the most famous Thai dish for good reason. This stir-fried thin rice noodle dish can be found in street carts all over Thailand, and in every Thai restaurant in the United States.

Phad Thai usually includes egg, bean sprouts, onion, and peanuts. It can be served as a vegetarian dish with tofu or extra veggies, or with shrimp or chicken.

2. Phad Prik Khing

Stir-fried veggies are a staple in Thai dishes, and no dish highlights them better than the delicious Phad Prik Khing.

This dish includes a heaping amount of veggies, including green beans, shitake mushrooms, white mushrooms, baby corn, bell peppers, sweet basil, carrot, and onion. All these tasty veggies are stir-fried with chilis or red curry paste to give it a wonderful kick and are traditionally served with tofu, chicken, or shrimp.

3. Spring Rolls

If you’re looking for a classic Thai appetizer, or simply a snack for walking around the streets of Bangkok, look no further than the spring roll.

Diced vegetables and spices are rolled into a wonton wrapper and then deep-fried to order. It’s one of the freshest street dishes you can get, and generally served with a side of plum sauce.

4. Green Curry

No adventure through a Thai menu is complete without trying at least one curry, and when it comes to spice and flavor, nothing beats a green curry.

Made with spicy green peppers, coconut milk, eggplant, sweet basil, and other veggies, this curry is best with either chicken or tofu. It’s one of the spiciest Thai dishes you can get, so if you’re looking for a milder curry, try the delicious Panang curry.

5. Mango Sticky Rice

Looking to finish off your Thai experience with a delicious dessert? Mango sticky rice is the way to go.

This simple yet delicious dessert is made with sticky rice, fresh mango slices, and topped with a dollop of coconut milk.
